Notice to Consumers – Texas Mental Health Services

This notice is provided in accordance with Texas law, including House Bill 4224 and Section 181.105 of the Texas Health and Safety Code, to inform consumers of their rights and available regulatory resources.

Psychological services provided in Texas are regulated by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC).

Access to Mental Health Records

You have the right to access and request a copy of your mental health records in accordance with Texas law, the Texas Medical Records Privacy Act, and applicable federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA.

Requests for records must be submitted in writing to your treating clinician or to the practice. Records will be provided within the time frames and under the conditions permitted by law. Certain information may be limited or withheld as allowed by law to protect patient safety or privacy.

Fees may apply for copies of records as permitted by applicable state and federal law.

If you have questions about requesting records or need assistance with the process, you may contact the practice for support.

Consumer Complaints and Regulatory Oversight

If you have concerns about the services provided, you are encouraged to discuss them directly with your provider whenever possible. If concerns cannot be resolved, you have the right to file a complaint with the licensing authority.
