Online Perfectionism Counseling for Adults

Serving Texas, Florida, and 41 Other States via PSYPACT

Support for adults who look put together on the OUTSIDE BUT feel exhausted AF from holding everything together on the inside.

Let’s be honest

You’ve been keeping your entire life upright using sheer force of will.

I provide online counseling for adults whose perfectionism shows up as chronic self-pressure, overfunctioning, guilt around rest, and tying worth to productivity or performance.

To everyone else, you’re:

  •  The responsible one.

  •  The efficient one.

  • The go-to person because “you always get it done.”

But inside?
You’re tired.

Tired of proving your worth.

Tired of chasing standards that never let you rest.

Tired of holding things together because “if I don’t do it, it won’t be done right.”

Perfectionism may have helped you succeed, but it’s also left you feeling pressured, constrained, and emotionally exhausted.

When you are ready to put down the emotional barbell, schedule your free consultation now

Why I Truly Understand Perfectionism

I understand perfectionism both professionally and personally.

As a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in high-achieving, heart-driven adults, I know the inner world of perfectionism well:

• Craving praise but resenting needing it
• Wanting help but not trusting anyone to “do it right”
• Feeling guilty every time you rest
• Spending hours spent perfecting what should take 20 minutes
• Feeling like “good enough” equals failure

And full transparency?
I’m a perfectionist in recovery myself.

I create A LOT! Therapy handouts, digital coloring books, affirmation decks, jewelry, and EPPP materials to make the psychology board exam easier. I know how quickly perfectionism can hijack even the things you love. One crooked line can spark a total redo. One typo can steal hours.

So when you say you’re stuck tweaking, over-functioning, or avoiding starting because the pressure feels overwhelming, I get it. I’ve lived it, I work with it, and I know how to help you step out of the loop without dimming your brilliance.

Your patterns make sense and you deserve support that does too.

What Perfectionism Counseling with Me Feels Like

  • Rest feels safe instead of guilty

  • Delegation doesn’t feel like disaster

  • Productivity stops defining your worth

  • Ease doesn’t feel like you’re entering the danger zone

  • Belonging and love doesn’t have to be earned

I am not here to “fix” you (because you are not broken).
And I am definitely not here to tell you to “lower your standards” (perfectionists flippin hate that shit!).

I am here to help you build a life where:

Clients often tell me:
“You see the parts I hide from everyone else”
“You hold me accountable without making me shame.”
“You help me see progress I never would’ve noticed on my own.”

Your perfectionism has had the mic long enough.
Take a step towards dropping it.

“Perfectionism is not the belief that you can be better. It’s the belief that you’re never enough.

Frequently Asked Questions About Online Perfectionism Counseling

  • If your standards are running your life instead of supporting it, that’s enough.

    If rest feels unsafe.
    If mistakes feel catastrophic.
If your worth rises and falls based on productivity.
If you can’t celebrate wins because you’re already chasing the next thing.

I work best with adults who are high-functioning but emotionally exhausted, people who look competent on the outside yet feel constant internal pressure on the inside.

You do not need to be falling apart to deserve support. You just need to be tired of living under relentless self-pressure.

  • I specialize in perfectionism that shows up as:

    • Chronic self-criticism

    • Overfunctioning in relationships

    • Difficulty delegating

    • Guilt around rest

    • Tying identity to achievement

    • Procrastination fueled by fear of imperfection

    • People-pleasing rooted in worth insecurity

    • Burnout from never feeling “done”

You do not need a formal diagnosis. Many of my clients are successful professionals, caregivers, creatives, or leaders whose perfectionism once helped them succeed, but now keeps them stuck.

  • Not necessarily.

Perfectionism and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can look similar, but they are not the same.

If you experience intrusive thoughts, ritualistic behaviors, or compulsions that feel uncontrollable and time-consuming, you may need specialized OCD treatment.

I do not provide intensive OCD treatment. If that is your primary concern, I can help guide you toward appropriate care.

If your struggle is more about internal pressure, fear of failure, over-responsibility, or achievement-driven worth, this is likely the right space.

  • Sessions are 50 minutes via secure video. I provide online therapy to adults physically located in Texas, Florida, and PSYPACT-participating states where I’m authorized to practice.

    Our work may include:

    • Identifying the origin of your pressure patterns

    • Reducing shame and self-criticism

    • Practicing “good enough” safely and gradually

    • Learning to rest without spiraling

    • Untangling productivity from identity

    • Building boundaries that don’t feel selfish

This is not about lowering your standards.
It’s about separating excellence from self-punishment.

    We build flexibility, not mediocrity.

  • Nope!

The goal is not to dull your drive or ambition. Many of my clients are high-achieving and care deeply about doing meaningful work.

The goal is to reduce fear-based motivation and replace it with sustainable, self-respecting effort.

    You can still aim high.
You just won’t have to hate yourself on the way there.

  • That makes sense.

Perfectionism often developed as protection, from criticism, chaos, rejection, or feeling not enough.

We do not rip that coping strategy away.

We slowly build alternatives that feel safer and more sustainable. Control doesn’t disappear overnight. It softens as trust increases.

  • This practice does not provide:

    • Crisis or emergency services

    • Care for active suicidal intent

    • Court-ordered treatment

    • Intensive or higher-level psychiatric care

    • Treatment for unmanaged substance dependence

    • Specialized treatment for severe OCD requiring exposure-based protocols

If you are in crisis, please seek emergency care. If you’re unsure whether your needs fall within this scope, we can discuss that during a consultation.

  • No. I do not prescribe medication.

If medication may be helpful for anxiety, depression, or related concerns, I’m happy to collaborate with your prescribing provider. Therapy and medication can work well together, but medication is never required to begin this work.

  • I am a private-pay practice.

Payment is due at the time of service. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.

Many clients choose private pay because it allows for privacy, flexibility, and work that isn’t constrained by insurance timelines or diagnostic requirements.

We can discuss whether this feels like a sustainable investment during your consultation.

  • It depends on how long perfectionism has been running the show.

Some clients benefit from short-term work focused on specific patterns like procrastination or burnout. Others choose longer-term therapy to address identity, relationships, and self-worth at a deeper level.

We move at a pace that feels steady and respectful. The goal isn’t to become a different person, it’s to feel freer inside the life you’re already building.
