Dr. Nichole Vincent

Licensed Clinical Psychologist providing online therapy to adults and couples across 43 PSYPACT participating states. My best work focuses on anxiety, ADHD, grief, perfectionism, and relationship challenges.

Forget the cliché therapist scenes you’ve seen on TV.

There are no blank stares, passive nodding, or endless “mm-hmm” energy here.

You deserve a therapist who pays attention, tells you the truth with kindness, and gives you something useful to take with you after every session. Insight is great. Being able to use it when your brain is loud, your emotions are big, or your partner just pushed your last button is better.

What Therapy With Me Feels Like

(And Why It Works)

Colorful scattered circles in shades of purple, blue, and pink on a black background.

Therapy with me feels like exhaling.

Like sitting with someone who notices the patterns you’ve been living inside for so long that they stopped looking like patterns. We’ll laugh when we can, get honest when we need to, and spend less time admiring the problem from 12 different angles and more time figuring out what to do when it shows up again.

I’ll celebrate your wins, hold space for the hard shit, and (lovingly) call you out when perfectionism, avoidance, or old patterns try to run the show.

This is a space where you get to be seen, supported, and challenged while we untangle what you’ve been carrying alone for far too long.

What Its Like to Work With Me

A blend of clinical depth, humor, creativity, and authenticity in every session

[aka serious therapy without making every minute feel painfully serious ;)]

  • Therapy that meets you exactly where you are (not where you think you should be)

  • I drop cuss words and #hashtags when it fits, and whatever else helps something finally click

  • Quotes, books, podcasts, and even TikToks, depending on which one your brain is actually going to remember

  • I am not going to keep handing you strategies that clearly do not work for your brain just because they worked for someone else

Clients often describe me as genuine, non-judgmental, and refreshingly real, and that’s exactly how the real work happens.

Some sessions will be deep. Some will be practical. Some will include tears, swearing, a breakthrough, or a combination of all three. The point is to leave understanding yourself better and knowing what comes next. Get your heart ready for a therapeutic experience that’s anything but cookie-cutter!

Ready to Say YES to Yourself?

I am ready when you are!

My

Therapy Superpowers Include

  • Making it easier to say the thing you have rehearsed 12 times but still feel weird saying out loud

  • Spotting patterns you’re too close to see

  • Helping you make sense of what's happening without pretending everything is okay

  • Validating why a pattern developed while still helping you stop letting it run your life

  • Believing you are the expert on your life and helping you trust that again

  • Bringing warmth, positive energy, and relatability that help clients feel comfortable to be messy, swear, cry, laugh, change your mind, or admit the thing you've never said out loud

Evidence-Based Therapy Approaches I Use

I don't believe in forcing people into one therapy model. These approaches guide my work, but our sessions are tailored to your goals, your personality, and what actually helps, not to checking boxes in a treatment manual.

No, I won't spend our sessions trying to impress you with psychology terms. If a concept is useful, I'll explain it in plain terms and help you figure out how it applies to your actual life.

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) - helps when you are spending so much energy fighting your thoughts and feelings that they are running your life anyway. We focus on making room for discomfort while moving toward what actually matters to you.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - helps us catch the stories your brain keeps presenting as facts, especially the ones feeding anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt. Then we test them against reality and build responses that are more useful.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) - is useful when emotions go from zero to a hundred, distress feels impossible to tolerate, or you know what you should do but cannot access it once you are activated. It gives us practical skills for those exact moments.

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy - helps when your inner critic has mistaken cruelty for motivation. We work on reducing shame and building a kinder internal voice without lowering your standards or pretending everything is wonderful.

  • Interpersonal Therapy - focuses on how relationships, conflict, grief, and life transitions are affecting your emotional health right now. It is especially useful when the problem does not live only inside your head.

  • Motivational Interviewing - helps when one part of you wants change and another part would very much like everyone to stop asking. We slow down the tug-of-war and figure out what you genuinely want.

  • Person-Centered & Strength-Based Approaches - keep therapy focused on you as a whole person, not a collection of symptoms. We pay attention to what is already helping, what has kept you going, and where you want something different.

  • Trauma-Informed Care - means recognizing how past experiences can shape your nervous system, relationships, and coping without assuming every present-day struggle is secretly about trauma.

  • Integrative & Solution-Focused Therapy - means I pull from more than one model and focus on the next useful step, rather than making your life fit neatly inside a treatment manual.

  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBCT) - helps you notice thoughts without immediately climbing inside them and letting them drive. It can be especially useful for racing thoughts, worry, rumination, and emotional reactivity.

My Experience & Education

(So You Know I’m Legit)

  • 13+ years helping adults navigate anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship stress, and the seasons of life that knock everything sideways

  • Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology obtained from Nova Southeastern University in 2016

  • American Psychological Association approved internship + 6,000+ supervised clinical hours before licensure

  • My background includes work with survivors of domestic violence, university students, incarcerated adults, and active-duty service members. Those settings taught me that people can look incredibly capable while carrying stories and stress most others never see.

  • Graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a Double Minor in both Psychology and Sociology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
