You struggle with the relentless worries that seem to have taken control of your mind. It’s as if worrying has become a full-time, unpaid job that wreaks havoc on your overall well-being, both mentally and physically. The constant state of nervousness, tension, and restlessness makes it challenging to make decisions, as you constantly second-guess yourself and imagine the worst-case scenarios. It can be frustrating when people in your life dismissively tell you to “calm down” or to “stop worrying so much,” as if you haven’t already tried countless times (*insert eye roll*). If only there was a switch in your brain to instantly turn off the anxiety, but unfortunately, it’s not that simple. Feeling easily overwhelmed, you unintentionally lash out at the people who care about you the most.

“Through the experience of anxiety, I’ve learned to ask helpful questions instead, such as: What can I learn in this situation? How am I going to grow through what happened? What could be my next step? How am I going to cope with my feelings? What can I do to make it better? These questions gave me direction and prevented me from getting stuck in my anxiety.”

Let’s Shrink the Worry & Expand Your Life!

There are times when you manage to tame your anxiety, but more often than not, it feels like a constant struggle to control your worries and focus on what truly matters. Anxiety has a way of sneaking in at the most inconvenient moments, stealing your productivity at work, hindering your presence in conversations with loved ones, or causing you to forget simple tasks like what you were going to get grocery shopping or what task you were going to hop to next. Nighttime becomes a battleground as your mind replays the day’s stressors, your perceived shortcomings, and an ever-growing to-do list for tomorrow. Falling asleep becomes a challenge, and even when you do manage to drift off, you find yourself waking up multiple times throughout the night, leaving you feeling far from rested the next day. Your concerns and worries may even infiltrate your dreams, playing out as recurring themes.

Helping you is what I do.

I often use a metaphor of describing therapy as driving a car. YOU are in the driver’s seat and you tell me what your final destination is. Want to worry less, loosen the grip your anxiety has on you, or get rid of the mask that your anxiety has created? I am your professional GPS and know many different ways to get us to your respective destination(s). Some routes may be shorter, while others may be longer, less bumpy, more scenic, and require experimenting to find the ones that resonate with you and are the most efficient in reaching your desired destination. Similar to Waze and Google Maps, alerting you to upcoming obstacles or suggesting alternate detours, I will also help you navigate these obstacles and find better paths. Therapy is just a matter of making tweaks and trying new routes until we find the one(s) that are the most efficient for you! Unlike Waze and Google Maps, my professional GPS navigation systems comes equipped with oodles of valuable support, encouragement, a consistent presence throughout the length of your therapy journey and expert tactics to help you create the life you crave! This all begins in therapy by: leaving your comfort zone, experiencing a relationship with appropriate boundaries, connecting with someone who can handle #allyourfeels, having someone show up for you consistently and whom you genuinely trust to share your authentic self with.
