Investment in Your

Therapy

Therapy Is A Priceless Investment Into Your Wellness With Major Returns!

The returns are life-changing, and the positive impact will stay with you far beyond the time spent in session. You deserve to invest in something that will elevate your life on a profound level!

You invest in a lot of things that help you feel good. Whether it’s vacations, tattoos, acupuncture, Botox, spa days, chiropractic visits, blissful massages, fresh journals…each choice serves to recharge, revitalize, and enhance your well-being. Therapy belongs in this same category.

In therapy, you’re not only investing in the time we spend during our appointments, you’re investing in a transformative experience that extends far beyond a few hours or weeks. Therapy is your dedicated time, a space where you can explore, grow, and heal. It’s your chance to get clarity, share things you feel you don’t have space or safety to share elsewhere, help your nervous system chill tf out, and think about things on a deeper level. Think about therapy as having a personal trainer for your brain, heart and your patterns. As you gain self-awareness, coping skills, and resilience, you’ll experience increased confidence, improved decision-making, and a deeper understanding of yourself. I mean, who doesn’t want an abundance of all that yummy mental health goodness?

Every session is an investment in:

  • Insight that helps you make better decisions
  • Skills that reduce anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and chaos
  • Emotional capacity and resilience
  • More ease, less self-criticism
  • Healthier relationships with yourself and others
  • A life that actually feels like yours again

You are absolutely worthy of this investment, and I am here to support you every step of the way.

Expect frequent check-ins from me to guarantee your therapy experience with me aligns perfectly with your needs. Your progress and growth are my top priorities, and I am committed to providing the support and guidance you need however long or short our time may be together. Your investment in therapy holds immense value, and my mission is to ensure you reap the maximum rewards from it.

How I Maximize the Value of Your Investment:

I keep my caseload intentionally small so your therapy isn’t rushed, generic, or formulaic. You get thoughtful, tailored, responsive care, not a therapist who is cramming 30 clients into a week. This means having ample availability during the day for those with flexible work schedules, being easily accessible through a secure messaging platform, and sending supplemental resources (e.g., videos, podcasts, etc.) to my clients so you can get the most out of your treatment.

Here’s what working with me actually includes:

Tailored support for your brain + your life

Sessions aren’t “one size fits all.” I adjust strategies, tools, and pacing based on your needs, energy, communication style, and goals.

High quality, empirically based care, rooted in my extensive training and knowledge accrued through my doctoral education and copious amounts of continuous professional development.

Deep preparation before you even arrive

I thoroughly review your intake, history, patterns, concerns, and goals so we start strong and stay focused. Understanding your background and experiences allows us to collaboratively design a personalized treatment plan that matches your specific needs.

A dedicated plan we revisit often

We set goals early, track progress intentionally, and pivot as your life changes, because real life isn’t linear.

ADHD-friendly, neurodivergent-friendly structure

Clear tools. Non-judgmental accountability. Flexible routines. Practical strategies. All built for real people living their busy lives.

Secure messaging + curated resources

Articles, videos, podcasts, worksheets, only when helpful and never overwhelming. These extra goodies I equip you with will be applicable beyond the context of our sessions and will help you navigate life’s challenges effectively long after our work together.

HIPAA-secure portal + easy online scheduling

No chaos. No confusion. And definitely no lost paperwork. This is where you’ll conveniently fill out and submit intake paperwork, schedule appointments and communicate with me, making the beginning of our partnership efficient and hassle-free. I’m all about that one-stop-shop approach :).

Flexible appointment times

For adults with busy schedules, travel, caregiving responsibilities, and unpredictable workdays. I strive to accommodate your availability, making access to the support you deserve at the time and place that suits you best.

Coordination with other providers (when needed)

With your permission, I collaborate with prescribers, doctors, and specialists to ensure cohesive, whole-person care. If you or I deem it important in our work together, I will reach out to those professionals.
Rest assured that your privacy and consent are always respected, and any communication with other care providers is done with the utmost sensitivity and respect.

Insurance

I’m an exclusive private-pay practice, which means our work isn’t dictated by insurance limitations, just your goals, your pace, and what actually helps you. You might be wondering but why don’t you accept insurance? TLDR: To protect your privacy, autonomy, and the quality of your care (my longer answer is below). Please understand just because I do not accept your insurance, does not mean we won’t be able to work together.

Insurance companies can dictate:

How long your treatment lasts

They can stop approving sessions before you’re clinically ready.

How often you must attend

They determine frequency, not your needs or my clinical judgment.

What type of therapy is “allowed”

If it’s not on their “approved” list, they can deny payment, even if it’s the most effective option for you.

What diagnoses must be given to receive reimbursement

You must meet criteria for a billable disorder for them to pay.

Proof you’re “sick enough” to qualify
They may deny claims if your symptoms don’t meet their threshold for “medical necessity.”

Reviews of your personal clinical notes
Utilization reviewers can request access to your records, reducing your privacy and confidentiality.

The right to audit or request documentation anytime
Your private information may be reviewed by multiple people who are not your therapist.

A diagnosis added to your permanent medical record
A requirement that can affect future life insurance, security clearances, employment, and disability claims.

Permission to limit or deny couples therapy altogether
They often won’t cover it unless one partner has an individual, billable disorder.

Restrictions on how flexible therapy can be
They don’t approve sessions focused on personal growth, prevention, or life transitions, only “treating illness.”

Control over session length
Some plans will only reimburse 45–50 minutes, even if 75 or 90 minutes would be more clinically effective.

The ability to end care the moment you show improvement
If you start doing better, they often reduce session frequency or stop coverage entirely.

Requirements that undermine continuity of care
If you change jobs, insurers, or plans, you may lose your therapist mid-progress.

Your mental health should NOT be controlled by a company that has never met you. Periodt.

Bypassing insurance allows the utmost flexibility and privacy for my clients

You’re not required to receive a mental health diagnosis

Insurance mandates a diagnosis for reimbursement. Private pay means your story isn’t reduced to a billing code.

Your diagnosis won’t become part of your permanent medical record

This protects future life insurance applications, disability claims, adoption paperwork, and certain career paths.

Therapy can focus on growth, prevention, identity work, grief, or relational patterns

Insurance only pays for “treating illness.” Private pay allows deeper, more meaningful work.

Your sessions remain 100% private = no compliance audits

Insurance companies can request treatment notes or summaries. I don’t release anything without your consent, ever.

We can use integrated, creative, and innovative therapy approaches

Insurance restricts what approaches are reimbursable. Private pay lets us use what actually works for your nervous system and your life.

You’re not tied to an insurance panel’s provider list

You choose the therapist who feels like the right fit, not whoever has an open slot.

You get continuity of care even if your insurance changes

Switching jobs, plans, or coverage won’t force you to switch therapists.

We can customize session length to what you need

Insurance often only reimburses 45–50 minutes. Private pay allows 60, 75, or 90 minutes when deeper work is needed.

Your therapy won’t be interrupted by “medical necessity reviews”

No one is evaluating whether you’re “sick enough” to continue.

Your therapeutic goals can evolve without limitation

You’re not locked into a rigid treatment plan created to satisfy insurance requirements.

While I do not directly accept health insurance; it’s worth noting that your insurance company may accept something known as a Superbill, essentially a detailed therapy receipt that I can provide upon request. You can then submit this Superbill for potential reimbursement. It’s a straightforward process that typically involves a confidential fax, email, or portal to send the Superbill to your insurance provider. It is very important to note that the Superbill will show how many therapy appointments you attended, the cost of those services, any mental health diagnoses that you meet criteria for, and your insurance will have access to this information. We can discuss this further and review it during our meetings so you can make an informed decision that aligns with your needs.

I recommend reaching out to your insurance provider, using the phone number on your insurance card, to inquire about “out-of-network benefits.” They can provide you with information regarding potential reimbursement based on your plan and deductible. Please note that you will be responsible for the full fee at the time of service.

If You’re Worried About Cost, Here Are Options

  • Use HSA/FSA dollars (pre-tax)

  • Ask your insurer whether you have out-of-network benefits

  • Spread out session frequency (biweekly or every 3 weeks) once stabilized

  • Schedule longer sessions less frequently for deeper work

Many clients choose private pay for the privacy, flexibility, and freedom it offers.

Use Pre-Tax Dollars.

Did you know that you can use your Health Savings or Flexible Spending Account to pay for therapy using pre-tax dollars? Please note that HSA accounts may be harder to get couples therapy covered, so check on that before you get started.

Speak with your tax preparer

Speak with your tax preparer to see if you could deduct therapy expenses from your taxes as an out-of-pocket health expense.

Understand that therapy is an investment.

Understand that therapy is an investment in yourself and your relationship. You are paying for high-level clinical expertise, individualized treatment, and truly personalized care, not rushed, high-volume therapy.

Insurance

I do not participate with any insurance panels. While I do not accept health insurance; it is entirely possible your insurance company may accept something called a Superbill (this is just a fancy PDF receipt for therapy) that I provide upon request, and you can submit (PS submitting is quick and there is usually a confidential fax, email, or portal for you to send the Superbill to) for potential reimbursement.

Therapy can change your life if you let it…
